Eloise Marlyn

Basic Info:

Demeanor: Eloise comes off as slightly closed off. She likes to keep a distance (physically at least), and worries, a lot. She's a workaholic and would rather be doing something she considers valuable than fool around.

Nature: Eloise is pretty much exactly like her demeanor. She is also somewhat self-destructive and blames herself for the bad that goes on around her. As well as she does like to have fun, but just doesn't really understand how. Work's fun, right?

Description: Eloise stands at 5 feet, 8 inches and weighs at 180 pounds. She has soft light blue eyes and faded long blonde hair that she usually keeps up in a bun. Eloise also has a pair of thick black glasses. She's usually in any wear that will cover up a majority of her skin. Her left arm (from hand to about half-way to the elbow) is covered in stone like scales, the palm has cracks the glow green very weakly (more below). When her 'infestation' acts up too much, she can be seen wearing an arm sling for it.


HP and Psyche start at 6, can't raise during creation, but add 1/2 of Brawn to HP.
Brawn, Agility and Brains start at 1 each, starting cap 4, total cap 6, and you get 5 points to distribute among them.

Things your character is good at, things normal people can do
Skills rolls add their associated stat as well (Brawn, Agility or Brains). You get 12 points to spend on skills at creation, with a starting cap of 4 and total cap of 6.

Supernatural Abilities:

These are things you're character accomplishes via their power.
Abilities/Powers should be fairly broad, but look at other characters for good examples. They can grow over time, so don't worry if you start on the small side! You get 7 points to spend on powers at creation, with a starting cap of 4 and total cap of 7. Powers add your Tier to their rolls, usually.

Catalyst - 4 - Whatever Eloise found in the forest that fateful day has become a part of her. The deformation that covers half of her left arm seems to retain some powerful characters. Most importantly: The ability to imbue objects with effects on touch. Any effects that are given to objects are immediately lost as she loses contact with them.

Baseless Formation - 3 - Eloise's Catalyst hand can form something, out of nothing! However, what is formed is made of the green glow that has properties similar to steel. What is created cannot exceed the size of Eloise's Catalyst hand. Catalyst's effects cannot apply to objects created by Baseless Formation. Eloise can will what she forms to deform at any time, formations also deform if contact is lost.

Manipulation: (Flavor) - Eloise's Catalyst hand also allows for basic color manipulation of some objects. The rules that apply to catalyst also apply to this skill, does not consume charges.


Things that cause problems for your character, often side effect of your powers (or of having your powers), not necessary. Not just 'limitations' of your powers.

  • Mild: Self Exchange. Eloise calls her 'power' an infestation and a parasite do to it's nature of seemingly eating her body. Her bones are weaker than they should be, making them more susceptible to break under severe force.
  • Mild (Flavor): Ebb and Flow. The stone like scales that cover her left arm do spread, and they do recede. It's… Very gradual and slow process however. At the end of every month a 1d3 is rolled to determine how it goes: 1, being slight recession of the scale like infestation, 2 being no noticeable change, 3 being slight increase.
  • Mild (Flavor): Growth Pain. Her 'infestation' doesn't seem to cooperate with her body too well. It can cause some extreme soreness and pain in her left arm.
  • Severe (Flavor): Stone-like scales covering the left arm from her hand about halfway to the elbow. The palm seems to have some form of cracking revealing a weak green glow.

Personal History:

List what your character's life has been like, from birth until 2018. The more, the better. Be sure that all of your character's skills and supernatural abilities are mentioned.

Eloise was born an absolutely normal child in a small town in Michigan in 2000, no powers, no anything. Just normal. She lived a pretty normal life too and did pretty well in school. On her free time she took to reading books and going out in the woods and exploring a little. As time past she grew a fascination for the plants she found out in the woods. She, of course, began to read many books about botany and studied on it. However, one day in her explorations out in the woods, she found something curious. A green stone, at the time she supposed it was some kind of gemstone and it's glow was the sunlight. Naturally she goes to investigate, picking it up before immediately falling unconscious.
Shortly after Eloise awoke with terrible pains spreading through her left arm, only to see stone like scales appearing and spreading down it. Miserable and in extreme pain, Eloise slowly made the way back to her home. Upon telling her parents and showing it off, news was quick to spread. While the time passed Eloise slowly learned about the abilities her new infestation gave her, fascinating and terrifying. Later on she was invited to Fifth Sanctum. An offer she dare not decline.


Eloise is ambidextrous.
